I checked out some of the comments on amazon and most advocated a change of strings, as the stock strings are "corroded", "unplayable", and "tough." FYI, I got the Takamine Jasmine nex s34c: Maybe the reason my calluses went so out of control was because of all the abuse I put them through. I shaved them down with an emery board pretty good (someone told me that the new skin would grow back tougher and less likely to have grooves or cuts) and have been practicing chords from the first three stages in hopes that it will allow for a more even development of calluses. Basically it was insane considering how long I've been playing. So I've been playing for about two weeks and had developed some really thick and ridged calluses with grooves. ![]()
